Destination wedding: Des Moines, Iowa! (part two) | Cleveland Wedding Photographer | Scott Shaw Photo
Have partner, will travel – and the wedding moves from Illinois to Iowa!
Chicagoland resident Marykim met Kris in Iowa and they enjoyed a commuter relationship.
So it was fitting that their Illinois wedding would ultimately be moved to Iowa. For almost
three years Kris would travel to see Marykim and help with her bed and breakfast on his
weekends away from work. The Paper Doll House in Sycamore, IL. often holds scrapbooking
retreats and keeps her hopping.

Marykim and Kris’s Wedding In Corn Country Yields A Bumper Crop!
From the first conversation, the wedding of Marykim and Kris sounded like a fun trip. I’ve never been to Des Moines, Iowa and always hear about corn, corn, corn: much like my home state of Illinois. I was certain there was more to the surroundings than just corn.

Natalie and Tom’s Wedding Party in Canton and at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Was Beautiful and FUN
The Byzantine Catholic wedding ceremony took place at the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral in Canton. We took portrait photos on the grounds of the church, taking advantage of the very interesting buildings on the property – like those in Romanian villages.
There are 280 bronze busts in the Hall of Fame Gallery and it made for some dramatic photos.

Emily and Jeremy’s Downtown Cleveland Wedding at the House of Blues: Ceremony and Reception
The main stage at the House of Blues in Cleveland played host to Emily and Jeremy, the bridal party and family for the couple’s ceremony and reception. This is an amazing location for Cleveland wedding photography. The guests looked on from the balcony and enjoyed the show.

Emily and Jeremy live in Boston and came in for the wedding day, where we met. Not a problem, as both were delightful and so friendly: we all settled in quickly.

Tricia and Andy’s Stan Hywet Hall wedding | Cleveland Wedding Photographer | Scott Shaw Photo
Tricia and Andy have great chemistry in photos; that was clear in our engagement session. So I knew their wedding would be a fun day.

They chose Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens for the ceremony. It is a truly beautiful estate – named for the Old English for stone quarry and abundance of stone used in its construction. Built by Goodyear founder F.A. Seiberling and his family, it was completed in 1915. So much history and amazing details lent themselves to beautiful photos. Thank you, Mr and Mrs. Seiberling! And to the fine folks who maintain the estate.
The earlier rain left some small puddles and the sun turned them golden from just the right angle!
Tricia’s unique ring and dress were also a great touch.

Loren and Mike’s Cleveland wedding day: the ceremony and reception.
The ceremony was on the west side of the Key Tower lobby with the historic Society for Savings bank building in the background. Mike is a big fan of Cleveland architecture and loved the archway behind them.

It’s a real gift when both the bride and groom value and are excited about their wedding photography and engaged as we capture and make memories of the moments, characters and qualities that matter to them.

A few engagement photos before Saturday’s wedding at Stan Hywet Hall
Tricia and Andy will be wed Saturday at Stan Hywet Hall and I wanted to show a few of the photos from their engagement session. They were very natural in front of the camera although I think they did display more PDA than they are used to for the benefit of the photography. Thanks guys and see you in a few days!
