Abandoned Theatre Brings The Drama
What could be more fun than shooting photos at night in an abandoned 1920’s theatre in freezing cold weather? Nothing! Well maybe a bit warmer temperatures. This was so fun!

The Varsity Theatre has seen many changes over the last 87 years.
It’s currently in limbo while funding is secured to rebuild the historic space.
Claire and Alan were excited for an engagement session here and she enlisted
Patrick Colvin of the Friends of the Historic Variety Theatre to show us around.
He told us many interesting stories about what has happened over the years.
The theatre started as a 1,900-seat vaudeville house, showing its last movies
in the early 1980s and briefly became a venue for heavy-metal rock bands.
Claire’s father, Bruce, is a former commercial photographer and was kind enough to
come along and help with the lighting since all that exists are a few work lights
and lots of darkness.

Thank you,

Enjoyed seeing the old theatre and the great pictures. It is still a great place.
